Ayrshire House of Prayer
AHOP –
This new initiative in Ayrshire had its official launch on the 11 September in an evening celebration through worship, incorporating prayer and intercession for Ayrshire and our nation.
AHOP was born from a ‘House Of Prayer’ in Troon. It brings ‘Encounter At The Well’ prophetic prayer meetings to the ‘The Howard Centre’ (5 Portland Road, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire KA1 2BT) every second Tuesday of the month, incorporating praise and worship with intercessory prayer for a renewed Ayrshire. This name – ‘Encounter At The Well’ – is taken from John 4 – The Woman At The Well. AHOP also holds worship celebrations monthly on Sunday evenings. www.facebook.com/AyrshireHouseOfPrayer
Bridge to the Broken
This prison ministry in Ayrshire, which goes in to Kilmarnock prison on a weekly basis and ministers to the prisoners, saw a real breakthrough this spring with over ten inmates giving their lives to Jesus and some of them asked to be baptised after reading in the Bible that this is a step in our journey with Jesus. They asked to be baptized with full water immersion and after prayer and several inquiries with the prison chaplain and the prison Director they got a go ahead. So this summer 9 inmates were baptized and are now on fire for Jesus and hold regular meetings and pray together. Bridge to the Broken also reaches out to the inmates’ families and for Christmas they give over 100 families a hamper with food and gifts. Bridge to the Broken is a ministry in the Bridge Church headed up by Aiden Curran He sais “For the last 10 years I’ve been working with people whose lives are controlled by addictions such as drugs or alcohol. “Bridge to the Broken will allow us to offer support to families who have been, or are presently, suffering from such addictions.
“I’ve also spent time in prisons, working with inmates and have seen the effect this can have on those outside, who have to deal with the combined pressures of everyday life and the impact of a loved one serving time. “Bridge to the Broken will offer support and guidance to those family members.”
