Displacing the Powers of Darkness

Displacing the Powers of Darkness by Barbara Jenkensonlight and life

In a recent email ‘When Darkness and Light Collide’, I shared about our outreach into a large New Age fair in Glasgow. Five people received salvation, and many others started a journey of friendship with Jesus… which was fantastic!

We first started taking outreach teams into that dark environment around six years ago. Since then, we’ve seen several hundred people saved, and many more healed and set free. However, another amazing thing has also been happening. As our team have repeatedly struck the ground (offering visitors a Kingdom alternative), an increasing number of people have been drawn to our stall to encounter Jesus, instead of opting for the other things on offer. This has had a phenomenal ripple effect, and over time, the number of other stalls at the event has decreased (because they weren’t getting enough business!)

Last week I was contacted by the organiser. Their profit margin has now fallen to the point where it is no longer viable for them to continue to hold their New Age fairs across Scotland. Consequently they are looking to sell their business! What an unstoppable, awesome God we serve! As His Presence continues to intensify over our towns and cities, the powers of darkness are being displaced, and more and more people are growing hungrier for Jesus.

In contrast to the falling numbers at New Age fairs, our own Christian fairs have become busier and busier. In recent weeks, we’ve held events in: Fife, Musselburgh, West Kilbride, Leith, East Kilbride, Livingston and Broxburn, ministering to over 500 people. Some 32 of these precious folk have received salvation, and many others have been healed and / or brought into life-changing encounters with the Living God. There are so many amazing stories to tell! At times ‘striking the ground’ can be hard (and sometimes discouraging) work. However as you read this, know that the more seeds you sow for the Kingdom, the more fruit you will see. So be encouraged, keep going, and never give up.
